Tillandsia Abdita red form is one of the most colorful and desirable species. It produces an abundance of soft leaves in a symmetrical rosette and will often grow to be some 12 cm in diameter. The leaves vary in color from a pale lettuce green to combinations that include pale cardinal. When in bloom the are normally a strikingly bright and colorful cardinal red. Although there is no flower spike, when blooming, the Tillandsia abdita produces many purple flowers typical of subgenus Tillandsia. It is relatively rare.
